The cocoa hails from organic farms in the San Franciso De Macois area of Dominican Republic. The beans are grown on Trinitario cocoa trees which are cultivated and harvested in the cooling shade of citrus, avocado and banana trees. Only 4% of cocoa beans produced in Dominican Republic are of the Hispoaniola variety. These are high exclusive high quality beans. Due to their fermentation and drying process these beans produce an intricate, fruity flavour. These are the beans we use in our multi award-winning, organic and diary free chocolate used in the making of this egg.
But how did we come up with the idea of combining our premium chocolate with organic cherries, well that is a story to be told….
Winston, a kind, cautious woodpecker is very fond of a plump, juicy cherry. One Easter, high amongst the treetops, plucking his fruity treasures from the cherry tree, he spots Samantha the Snake on the ground below. Samantha also loves cherries but she can’t reach high enough to grab one. Winston uses his keen woodpecker skills to drill his beak into the tree, sending luscious cherries tumbling down towards her. Our new friends celebrate their mouth watering discovery in fine style by making sour cherry choccy Easter eggs for each and every animal in the entire forest.
